What is CampusJ?
CampusJ is an enterprising new publication that aims to provide comprehensive coverage of Jewish news on campus, as well as training and opportunities to a new generation of Jewish journalists.
Our reporters, who are student journalists at various universities, cover the Jewish beat for their respective campuses, under the guidance of our editorial staff of professional journalists. Reporters receive a stipend and supplies with which to complete their reporting and learn all aspects of covering a beat – the premier skill for gaining employment in journalism after graduation.
A major part of the novelty of CampusJ is that our reporters use blogs with which to present their work. In this way, our reporters are learning how to apply the standards and ethics of traditional journalism with the practices and methodologies of new media.
The content on CampusJ doesn’t take any specific ideological approach, and isn’t here to tout any specific Jewish institution or position. We’re only interested in finding out what Jewish students have to say, and exploring the issues affecting them.
CampusJ participates in JRants.
