Upstart Literary Magazine’s Second Issue Will Be “The Jew Issue”

It’ll be a “Jewssue,” or Jew-issue, for the second edition of indie start-up magazine 72nd Avenue.
Editor-in-Chief Michael Orbach, a senior at Queens, told CampusJ that Jews make up over thirty-five percent of the student population at Queens College and have been highly-active in everything from the newspaper, to the student government, to running the food court. Partially-funded by the Hillel organization, the Jewssue will examine the rich history of Jewish students at QC and the impact they’ve had.
Orbach said he is not sure what the issue will look like, but some possible features include “The Top Ten Jewish Graduates of QC” (and the ones that didn’t make it), profiles of the future leaders of the Jewish community at QC right now, and non-fiction (”What it’s like to be the only non-Jew on QC”), all with a heavy dose of appropriate cynicism and sarcasm. Orbach hopes to release the Jewssue within the next month.
