Sam Guzik

I am a freshman at the Washington University in St. Louis and the new beat reporter for the campus. Originally from Long Island, New York, I am interested both in journalism and Judaism. Currently my major is undeclared, though I have considered everything from English to economics (suggestions are welcome). I look forward to hearing from you and working with you on covering this campus. Also, please feel free to contact me with story ideas or links to Jewish sites or blogs that might be of interest to the University community.

What to Look for

I will be reporting on and posting all manner of Jewish events on campus. Expect to see pieces on upcoming events, important occurrences on campus, and profiles of interesting people on campus. There will be a recurring piece (published before Shabbat) each week giving a glance at Jewish events in the upcoming days and more.  Remember to let me know if you have any suggestions for stories or directions to take this blog.

    Sounds nifty!

You should see if you can get JTS/List-College added to the list of links on the right… it’s got Yeshiva College and Yeshiva University… so, in my uneducated opinion (since I’m not a Wash U-nik), I’d say Wash U can handle the competition.

    Sam,
We’re really impressed with your willingness and ability to take on this additional challenge/opportunity.
This should act as a good clearing house for WU students to obtain info on Judaic events and activities.
The subsidies for kosher meals will provide a good test of whether price is the main reason for declining interest.
Regarding professional suggestions, I’m still plugging genetics.
