IU Jewish a cappella group to sing at White House
Hillel’s a capella group will be performing for the president and the first lady on December 18th. From Steve Hinnefeld of the Herald Times:
A singing group made up of IU students has been invited to sing at this year’s White House Hanukkah party — not bad for a group that doesn’t yet have a name and is just starting to build a song list.
The 16-member group associated with the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center at Indiana University, is part of a growing phenomenon of Jewish a capella groups, most of them based on college campuses and singing in a mix of music from traditional religious songs to vocals-only rock.

There will be nothing extreme outdoor during this event and it will be just a good time to hang out.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak will speak at the IU Auditorium, 1211 E. Seventh St., at 7:30 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public, but general admission tickets will be required to attend the lecture.
There will be a two ticket limit per person. Tickets will be available to students with a valid IU Bloomington ID on Oct. 16. Faculty, staff and general public tickets will be available on Oct. 19.
